HOW TO FUND YOUR PROJECT

Raising Support

The most common question we get is, “How do I raise my own support”?

It can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be!

Time and time again, we've seen God provide in miraculous ways when people step out in faith. If God is calling you to be part of a mission project, He will open the doors for you to go.

There are many ways to raise support, and with a little creativity and persistence, you’ll find that the financial barriers can be overcome.

Below are a few tried-and-true methods to help you gather the resources you need. We’ve also provided a support letter template to help you reach out to family, friends, and your church community.

  • Give a Presentation to Your Sunday School Class: Share your heart for the mission and explain how they can partner with you in this journey. We’ve had MANY participants receive support from their churches.

  • Send Out a Support Letter: Writing a heartfelt letter to your family, friends, and church members is a great way to invite them to participate in your mission. Use this Support Letter Template as a starting point, then personalize it to make it sound like you. You’ll be more successful sending a letter with your tone of voice. This letter can be used for email or snail mail. Don’t forget to follow up!

  • Crowdfunding: Use crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe or GiveSendGo to reach a broader audience. Share your story, your heart for the mission, and invite others to join through small (or large!) donations.

  • Have a Garage Sale: Fundraising can be practical too! Hosting a garage sale is a fun way to clear out your home and raise funds for your mission trip.

  • Managed Missions Fundraising: Managed Missions (the platform you registered on) offers a personalized fundraising page where supporters can donate directly to your project. It also features a progress bar, allowing you to easily track how much you’ve raised toward your goal. We encourage everyone to use this free tool. Here are instructions to set up your profile.

 HERE’S THE BOTTOM LINE

People actually DO want to support you financially.

Many individuals can’t go on a mission trip themselves - maybe they’re not musicians, they have young children, or they have other commitments - but contributing to your project allows them to play an active role, even if they aren’t able to physically go. They get to go with you through their support.
