To Russia, with Love

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations . . .Matthew 28:19

The Request from our Mission Partners is nurturing Russian leaders in order to inspire churches to grow. Russians leading Russians is the most effective strategy to evangelize and disciple Russian people. During the Soviet era, all but a handful of churches were destroyed; evangelism was illegal; and leaders were suppressed and imprisoned. And yet, we now have an historic opportunity to participate as the church of Jesus Christ is growing and being unified.

We would like for GMP musicians to come alongside Russians in order to model the divine power of the church pulling together in worship. 2017 marks the 500 year anniversary of the Protestant Reformation as well as the 100 year anniversary of the October Revolution and helps provide a platform for a week of major Christian worship events.

Project Objective

The GMC orchestra and support personnel will partner with Liberty University professors and Russian team members in order to accomplish the following objectives:

  • Helping to lead worship in 3-4 conference general sessions
  • Additionally performing 2 separate concerts
  • Assisting/instructing various breakout sessions on the use of orchestra and instruments in today’s church
  • Encouraging, mentoring and inspiring Russian leadership and worship teams as they lead their churches in worship

Soli Deo Gloria is a high level worship conference focussed on training pastors, worship leaders and their teams, musicians, sound technicians, stage designers and others in Biblical worship and how to lead effective worship ministries in their churches. We envision an international orchestra, instructors and support personnel who will help model and teach effective worship.

Project Highlights

  • Performing along-side Russian believers as one orchestra
  • Participating in the closing session of our Soli Deo Gloria national worship conference
  • Participating in a multi-church combined Sunday worship service
  • Visiting historic sites in Moscow
