Ministering in Cuba!

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations . . . Matthew 28:19

The Student Choir of First Baptist Church, Jackson, MS, has been invited by Cuban Baptists to minister in Havana, Cuba.  Christians in Cuba are seeing one of the most rapid rates of church growth in the world, third behind China and India. A church-planting movement has swept across Cuba, and in response, Cuban Baptists and an itinerant team of IMB missionaries have developed worship concerts to reach people with the love of Christ.

In Havana, Cuba, cars from the 1950s reflect Cuban history. Right after the 1959 Cuban revolution, Cuban Baptist churches numbered 210. In the next 30 years, that total increased to just 238. In the 1990s, a church-planting movement began sweeping Cuba; today, there aren’t enough churches to hold all of the believers. Baptists in Cuba are known for their zeal, for evangelism and a renewal in corporate worship. Cuban Baptists churches are attracting many lost people to services.

Project Objective

Perform evangelistic concerts; participate and lead worship services; encourage believers and edify the body of Christ; share with fellow believers to be a witness for Christ and support the work in Cuba.
